Dr. Hanadi Albasha, M.D., CIC

Dr. Hanadi Albasha is an accomplished infection prevention and control specialist with over a decade of experience leading hospital-wide infection control programs across major healthcare institutions in Saudi Arabia. With a strong clinical foundation in internal medicine and extensive expertise in epidemiology, outbreak management, and healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention, she brings deep technical insight and a data-driven approach to her work as a GHA Surveyor.

Dr. Albasha currently serves as the Infection Control & CSSD Director at Obeid Specialized Hospital in Riyadh, where she oversees surveillance, analysis, reporting, and the implementation of national and international standards for infection prevention and control. Her leadership includes designing and maintaining comprehensive IPC programs, strengthening compliance with CBAHI and JCI requirements, and ensuring the proper processing and sterilization of medical equipment in alignment with global guidelines.

Previously, she served as Senior House Officer and Team Leader for Infection Control at Prince Sultan Military Medical City, where she led outbreak investigations, coordinated antibiotic stewardship activities, and collaborated with facility and government stakeholders to implement robust prevention systems. Her background also includes clinical experience as an Internal Medicine Resident with the Ministry of Health in Damascus.

Dr. Albasha is certified in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology (CBIC) and holds multiple national credentials, including the Infection Control Audit (ICA) License and Trainer Certification for Basic Infection Control Skills from the Saudi General Directorate of Infection Prevention & Control. She has contributed to healthcare quality and IPC education as a speaker, trainer, and active participant in national and regional infectious disease and patient safety forums.

Throughout her career, Dr. Albasha has participated in and presented at numerous professional conferences, including Saudi ID Week, Saudi Hematology Congress, and multiple national infection control and patient safety events. Her work reflects a strong commitment to clinical excellence, continuous quality improvement, and the protection of patients, staff, and healthcare communities.
