The Covid-19 pandemic has placed immense challenges on hospitals around the globe. Staffing shortages, lack of capacity, depleting medical supplies and difficulties sourcing critical medical devices and personal protection equipment are just some of the key issues faced by healthcare leaders during this unprecedented time. Obviously, these issues, as well as concerns about personal, family and staff safety and health, can place undue stress on leaders.
While strong, proactive leadership is the basis of good business health in “normal” times, it is absolutely critical during times of crisis. In this context, I would like to share “Leadership Resources in the Midst of Crisis,” a collection of free and timely resources provided by the American Association for Physician Leadership (AAPL), a strategic partner of GHA, to help physicians and healthcare professionals better manage the evolving nature of COVID-19. AAPL has also recently started a new online community to share and collaborate with peers (Physician Leadership Connect) that has a free component for non-AAPL members – Leadership in Time of Crisis.
GHA salutes the heroic efforts of healthcare leaders around the globe as they manage through the challenges presented by COVID-19. GHA will continue to support you with resources during this difficult time.
