On August 20th, Bill Cook, GHA’s Director of Business Development & Marketing presented a joint workshop in Helsinki, Finland with Jonathan Edelheit, Chairman and Founder of the Medical Tourism Association. Bill focused his presentation on strategies for enhancing the patient experience for medical travelers and building a strong destination brand supported by best medical travel practices, while Mr. Edelheit provided practical insight on marketing and business development strategies for B2C, B2B and B2G. The event was sponsored by Business Finland and included the participation of representatives from hospitals, clinics, facilitators, air ambulance providers and hotels. While Finland is not well-known as a medical travel destination, it is very highly rated for its healthcare and education and has many outstanding facilities serving medical travelers from Russia, Sweden, China.
